As some of you might know I’m not the biggest fan of Christmas.
I could happily live without it, it really gets on my nerves that it starts way back August. I could easily go into a massive rant here, but I will not.
I will just say that this year, with our trip to the southern hemisphere, we managed to get away from it. I did hear that Australia (Sydney) embraced it all rather well, though only from November. In New Zealand we only started to see it during the last week or so, but sooo much more calmer and not as in your face as here in the UK. Like in the supermarket, it was just at the end of ONE aisle. The places that had decorations up had a little decoration, and not totally covered in tack and down your throat. I could live with that as it was easy to ignore.
We didn’t get to see much TV down there, though did have one evening just vegged in front of the box and it was rather weird to see Christmas ads (with cold and snow etc) down there. Like Guy Fawkes night and Halloween were celebrated on a warm, sunny day not a damp, cold and grey night, weird.
But yesterday I came home to a little package, a LEGO advent calendar, which makes it rather hard, for this “Christmas hater and hardcore LEGO lover”, not be a little interested in this Christmas malarkey.
Thank you Peli’s mum 🙂

Ah Lego – we have a Lego Santa and sleigh, it comes out of it’s box only at Christmas, the kids have tried to pinch it but I am not letting them have it. It’s about 35 years old and rather cute.

Nice 🙂
Today’s one was a snowman, for some reasons I had a extra carrot, arm and head.

I love the LEGO Advent Calendar. I tried to buy it at Lego World in Zwolle, but it was sold out. Luckily Bol.com was my save.

Day three : A skateboard and ramp. Bonus bits : extra wheels for skateboard.
December 4, 2010 at 12:16 pm
Day four : a crane or trailer not sure but I’m sure it will be some clear in the future. Bonus bits : an axle, window/light and a round one.
December 5, 2010 at 12:27 pm
Day five : looks like a drum set and a chair. Bonus bits : enough to build an extra hi-hat 🙂
December 6, 2010 at 1:45 pm
Day six : Little girl with a cat. Bonus bit : none 🙁
When did LEGO start making mini figs with short legs and non bending legs. I was not paying attention on Day Two as that too have short legs.
December 7, 2010 at 1:29 pm
Day seven in : A piano. Bonus bit : blue round one, small white grill
December 8, 2010 at 10:16 am
Day eight : A dog with a bowl and a sausage. Bonus bit : extra sausage. There should have been a little sticker to put in the bowl saying “dog”.
December 10, 2010 at 12:35 pm
Day nine and ten : A small plane and a man with a suitcase. Bonus bit : extra “cockpit” and tail wing. A extra wig.
Sorry for the two days together, I was busy.
The a man does have bendy legs so I take it that the other mini figs should be his “kids”. To bad that the extra wig is not different, so that he could play dress up.
The little plane, hmm that is part of the these mini builds I have heard about before.
I do wonder what I can build with all the extra bits at the end of the advent calender.

Day 11 : A fire place to warm up next too, with a candle light. Bonus bits : a extra flame, and a see through yellow round one.
December 14, 2010 at 8:21 pm
Sorry been slack again, but I now got a picture for you to see :
Day 12 : An axe with a chopping log, with a sledge to take your logs back to the fireplace.
Day 13 : Small fire truck, probably to prevent the inevitable fire that will start, since they gave us a fire place a few days back.
Day 14 : A lady with a baguette which is nearly the same size as her.
December 15, 2010 at 7:26 pm
Day 15 : a pair of chairs and table with a lamp and no bonus bits
December 18, 2010 at 10:45 am
Day 16 : A red sofa for sitting on next to the fire. Bonus bits : nothing, nada, nope
Day 17 : A shower, with hot and cold water. Bonus bits : hot and cold taps.
Day 18 : A mini fig wit a better beard than me 🙁 Though he go a hair brush. Bonus bit : hair brush and hat
December 19, 2010 at 9:10 pm
Day 19 : A train goods wagon. Which means that there would be a train to come 🙂
December 20, 2010 at 10:18 am
Day 20 : a mini snow plough in the same style as day four. Shall I send it out to Heathrow ?
December 22, 2010 at 11:39 am
Day 21 : Had another wagon for the train which surly will come.
Day 22 : A mini helicopter which is bigger than the plane I got the other day
December 23, 2010 at 2:23 pm
Day 23 : a Christmas tree with plenty of lights and a star
December 24, 2010 at 1:18 am
