I can’t remember the numbers, but stolen bicycles are on the rise, I think one every minute or was it more ? just one bicycle stolen is bad news. But there is hope you can help, with some simple tricks.

Make it hard for opportunist, lock it well to something that can’t be moved and bicycle not just lifted off. Like David Cameron bicycle, which he apparently just locked but not to anything.

Something like a Sheffield stand or even a lamppost would do. Just make sure the bicycle is secure and not easy to take.

Over at lock your bike, you will get some sound advice on how to secure your bicycle. Here are a few examples which I spotted one day …

2/ As you can see the cassette is standing on the “wheel bender” and it could easy bend your dérailleur when you take the bicycle.

As you can see these bicycle are not very secure and I’m sure that they will soon get new owners and not in a good and honest way.
